What it means
Scammers can build a recognizable voice from short public recordings, then combine it with caller-ID spoofing, a family emergency, or an executive payment request. The voice may sound convincing because the attack is designed to trigger panic before you verify identity.
How to protect yourself
- Do not rely on your ears or caller ID as proof.
- Hang up and call the person using a number you already have.
- Ask for a private family or team codeword before acting.
